Title Research: Licence to Kill

How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film?
During the opening scenes of "Licence to Kill" there was 31 title slides. The first 10 of them were actor lists, and 16 of them were the production jobs.
What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
The images scene the most are the outlines of women seen dancing. There are also several shots that are meant to look like guns. They do these flashy shots to keep the viewers interest even during the title scenes.
What connotations do the images carry? The images portray a strong feeling of distrust. They are shots of gun, money, and women. These are all shown in a negative light and it makes the reader have a certain distrust the movie wants to put off due to the opening title images.
How is the genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?
Due to the fact that we are doing an action movie, they relate to this by giving graphics of guns shooting off and the main points of the slides fading in and out, almost if they are reacting to the guns. They also edit in a rainbow of colors to bright the darkness to life and give an eerie feeling to the reader.
How does the film establish an enigma from the outset?
This is done by simply keeping the scenes dark. They are hard to see what exactly is going on because they only show a piece of a gun or person, this means the viewer has to try extra hard to see a little bit of the scene, and because they are all high profile items, you can start to build a profile of what exactly the movie is going to encompass pretty quick.
What stratagies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The biggest strategy they used is the audio and more specifically, the music. It switches and I think they are using popular music from the time of the movies release. This will draw in the crowds as they can feel more for the movie as it uses popular sounds they know and love.
How has technology been used effectively?
Technology was used very effectively. They edit in lots of things like black walls and gun effects to draw in the viewer. They also use the camera when a person comes on scene but only use a wide shot to get the whole person. There is a lack of shots but the editing ties the whole title part together as it is what gives the title scenes flair and excitement.
